Vasily Lebedev

Vasily is an Instrument Scientist at the Bernal Institute, responsible for TEM measurements, corresponding user trainings and maintenance.

He received a B.Sc. in Materials Science at Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia, followed by Master Degree and Ph.D. in Solid State Chemistry at the same University. His doctoral thesis included the study of photocatalytic properties of titania based catalysts, such as (Ag,Au)/TiO2, CuO/TiO2 and WO3/TiO2, as well as the influence of amorphous phase content in titania on its properties. He was previously employed as a researcher in the Chemistry Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University, where he worked with TEM, SEM, XRD and other equipment for research and teaching purposes. He has in excess of six years experience working with microscopy and Python for data processing.
